Volunteering Opportunities

• Befriending volunteering opportunities across Sefton and Liverpool
• Volunteers needed for both services – Befriending & Re-ablement and Combat Isolation
• Volunteers will receive induction and training, require 2 references, undergo an enhanced DBS check, can receive travel expenses and ongoing support
• For anyone interested in supporting older adults and those living with a mental health condition

We are always welcoming new befriending volunteers to join us. If you are a good listener, enjoy meeting and talking to new people and have some time to spare each week, then this role is for you!

Our services support older adults aged 50+ who experience loneliness and social isolation. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting clients to feel connected in a meaningful way. Volunteers befrienders can connect with clients either in the clients home, over the phone or out in the community, providing conversation, companionship and connection on a regular basis. Our volunteer befrienders make a huge impact in people’s lives and some of our volunteers have been with us for more than a decade!

As a volunteer, you will receive plenty of support and guidance throughout your role. You can gain valuable experience and develop your skills, meet new people and give back to your local community. When you apply to volunteer with us, you will:

• Be invited for an informal chat with one of our Volunteer Coordinators
• Attend a volunteer induction or training session
• Have the opportunity to access further training in lone working, safeguarding and mental health awareness
• Be matched with a volunteer based on mutual interests, personality and locality
• Receive ongoing support from the wider team
• Be reimbursed for travel expenses
• Be invited to volunteer celebrations during the year

To volunteer with us, you will need to provide details of 2 references and you will complete an enhanced DBS check with us. For further information about volunteering please get in touch by phone or email:
