Organisation and Services

Combat Isolation
• Accepts referrals only through NHS Community Mental Health Services
• 12 week one-to-one support service with an Inclusion Support Worker for people with mental illness
• A volunteer befriender
Combat Isolation is a support service for adults aged 50+ who are living with mental illness and are open to community mental health services across Sefton, Liverpool and Kirkby. Combat Isolation is free for clients and is funded by Mersey Care NHS Trust. The service provides one-to-one support to address loneliness and social isolation, as well as any barriers someone may be facing to address these issues, moving people towards feeling more confident and independent.
Our dedicated Inclusion Support Workers can provide 12 weeks of one-to-one support for up to 2 hours per week in the clients home or out in the community. The Inclusion Support Worker will take a person-centred approach, enabling each client to set meaningful goals and manage mental health challenges they may face along the way.
Following 12 weeks of support, we can provide ongoing companionship visits with one of our amazing volunteer befrienders. Volunteers are carefully matched with the client to ensure compatibility and are referenced, trained and DBS checked to ensure safety.
