Southport and Formby Special Athletes was originally formed in 1983 as a Special Olympics Group. Since then many of our athletes have successfully competed in various regional, national and international sports for people with intellectual disability.
Although affiliated to Special Olympics Great Britain, in 1994 we became a Registered Charity, independent of any statutory agency.
Our committee, coaches and helpers are all volunteers.
