Samaritans is here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we’re taking action to prevent the crisis. We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. And we encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives.
Samaritans offers 24 hour confidential emotional support to anyone in emtional distress. Samaritans believes that offering people the opportunity to be listened to in confidence and to be accepted without prejudice can alleviate despair and suicidal feelings. In offering this service we hope to achieve our vision of a society where fewer people die by suicide. It is the aim of Samaritans to make emotional health a mainstream issue.
