Citizens Advice Sefton provides free, confidential, and impartial advice to people living in Sefton. Our service supports individuals with a wide range of issues including welfare benefits, debt, employment, housing, consumer problems, and representation at welfare benefit tribunals.
We operate from two main Advice Centres in Bootle and Southport, each offering a reception service and open door access on specific days.
Bootle Advice Centre
Goddard Hall, 297 Knowsley Road, Bootle, L20 5DF
Reception Service: Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 4.00pm
Open Door Service: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10.00am – 2.00pm
Tuesday are reserved for pre-booked appointments only
Southport Advice Centre
23 Princes Street, Southport, PR8 1EG (behind Southport Market)
Reception Service: Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 4.00pm
Open Door Service: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 10.00am – 2.00pm
Thursday is reserved for pre-booked appointments only
What to Expect When You Visit Us
You do not need an appointment to attend our open door sessions. On arrival, our reception team will ask a few questions to assess your situation and determine the most appropriate support. We aim to provide advice on the day, but if your issue requires more time or specialist input, we will arrange a follow-up appointment.
Please note:
We are unable to complete forms during open door sessions, but we will assess your needs and book an appointment if form filling is required.
Emergency issues such as homelessness or bailiff action are prioritised.
We offer support for clients preparing for and attending welfare benefit tribunals, including representation where appropriate.
