The Theatre in the Rough Festival is a producer of new writing by young people from Greater Merseyside.
Since 2008, we have produced 63 new plays and short films by 71 writers, published two anthologies, and attracted live audiences of over 22,000.
We work with some of Merseyside's biggest venues, including Merseyside Maritime Museum, and The Atkinson in Southport.
Our mission is to respond to the needs of emerging theatre-makers by producing their work in imaginitive ways - and places - that genuinely engage people who don't normally take punts on new plays by unknown writers.
